PALO DURO CANYON STATE PARK

Palo Duro Canyon state park is one of the premier Amarillo attractions for people who enjoy nature and the outdoors. Only 24 miles from Amarillo, this is an easy day trip. Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the US and well worth a visit.

Some must-see sights of Palo Duro Canyon include the Canyon Gallery, Zipline Adventure Park, and TEXAS, the Musical.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park has miles of great hiking trails, backpacking and camping options as well as extensive biking trails. Take a drive through this awe inspiring canyon along the 16 miles of paved road in the park if you are short on time.

CADILLAC RANCH

Cadillac Ranch  is a roadside attraction on the West side of amarillo that runs along the famous Route 66. This attraction was made in 1974 by 3 men that planted 10 cars nose first in the dirt. This is a fun attraction for adults and children to spray paint the cars, eat at the food trucks and enjoy family time. So before you leave Amarillo be sure to grab some pain and head to paint your own art on the cars and get a once in a lifetime picture! 

THE BIG TEXAN

The  Big  Texan Steak House is a locally know steak house that is located on Route 66 in 1960 and is famous for the very large 72 oz steak challenge that they have. There has been a variety of celebrities come to the steak house and attempt to eat the 72oz steak, shrimp, salad and potatoes in under one hour to get the entire meal for free. This trend came from a man in 1962 that noticed Texas men loved to eat very large steaks. So, on your way to or from our park stop and see if you can finish the 72oz steak meal!
